When you install electric fencing to protect your outdoor site your focus is naturally going to be on having an effective deterrent and detection system in place. Our network of electric fence installers delivers just that, day in and day out using our Electro-Fence™ system as the solution.
However, some site owners might want to think of additional security measures. We are not talking about CCTV or microwave sensors which are obvious additions to complete an integrated security system. Our installers can take care of these things too either directly or via specialist partners in the industry. No, what we are talking about here is something different and quite simple – the matter of privacy.
Privacy Beyond Your Electric Fencing
Consider the contents and the location of your site. What if your site houses valuable material and is close to a road or in an area where the public have general, ready access? Your site might be anything from a scrap metal yard to a factory, a warehouse to a police compound. Goods might be awaiting transit or be in long-term storage. There are lots of potential scenarios.
In a recent case for one of our electric fencing installers, the site to be secured was a vehicle compound. It was located close to a public road and the site owners had decided that it would be a good idea to add an additional barrier screen in order to stop people looking in. They surmised that if a potential thief or vandal could not see what was inside the perimeter and when they looked up they saw industrial electric fencing with warning signs, then their curiosity would not get the better of them and they would be deterred.
So the site owner chose to install wooden sections on the inside of the existing metal palisade fence to create a double barrier. This was done before our electric fence installer was called in to do their job. Once the electric fence installation was complete, the site had the benefit of a three layer perimeter with intruder detection, a deterrent and privacy.
If you want to safeguard your premises in the most effective way, make an assessment of how your site might look to a potential intruder, vandal or thief. Then do all you can to give your site’s perimeter maximum protection and privacy.
