The installation of electric fencing on any site is always good news and our clients never cease to amaze us with their enthusiasm. Once the electric fence technology has been installed, they know they can face the future with a greater sense of security. So it is not surprising that when an electric fencing installer arrives on site, they are usually greeted with smiles and offers of co-operation in any respect that is required.
Today we would like to share a pictorial story of what it means to enjoy electric fencing installer success. Just recently, a member of our approved network of Electro-Fence™ installers undertook an installation at a secure vehicle compound.
The client needed to guard against unwanted intrusion into the compound and decided on the electric fencing option because of its properties as both a detection and deterrent system. The compound already had an existing metal palisade fence 2.4m in height and with access gates at various intervals. There was also a lot of overgrown vegetation on the perimeter which was growing through the palisade fence railings. Here is a section of the perimeter fence before installation work began.
All the overgrown vegetation was cut back both inside and outside the perimeter and, where appropriate and feasible, a gravel border was also created directly next to the fencing. This has a dual purpose as it will prevent weeds and other vegetation growing on the inside and it also makes the site more visually appealing.
We have published a step-by-step guide of the key points of this particular electric fence installation which you can view here. Essentially a ‘before and after’ with the various steps in between (fixing of insulators to intermediate posts, fixing of posts to the existing palisade fence, installation of the wires, extending of fence end, corner or any other strain posts to the height of the Electro-Fence™ posts in order to take the force of the wires, installation of anti-climb features, etc).
