A surge in export orders, particularly for our electric fence systems, has seen our Head Office team in Stirling working flat out in recent months. Buyers as far afield as Malaysia, Canada and the United States have between them generated an increase in our average monthly production of no less than 400%.
Here is an example of a recent electric fence shipment, destined for one of our distributors in Canada. The equipment will be installed on industrial and commercial sites. In the background of the first 2 photographs you can see the same electric security fence technology protecting the perimeter of our factory yard!
This export order came in hot on the heals of a previous order from Canada for our microwave sensors.
Why The Big Demand For Electric Fence Systems?
With so many more orders for electric fence systems, we have asked ourselves this question and our conclusion is that there is actually more than one answer. The first answer is based on security trends which in turn affect market demand. In a world of increasing monetary and social tensions, crime is on the increase with trends of attempted and actual theft showing no sign of slowing down. News reports regularly feature break-ins at all kinds of outdoor sites and these can be as varied as salvage yards to beekeeping facilities. Essentially, anything from scrap metal or to bees can be a target for thieves so it’s no surprise that site owners want to improve their perimeter security.
Here is a previous News report we published about apiary security which demonstrates the point. There is also this recent article about the $10,000 reward on offer from the California State Beekeepers Association for information leading to the prosecution of bee thieves.
Many site owners are now choosing to install an electric fence system because it not only detects but it deters. Even a failed break-in can cost a site money both in terms of materials and downtime. So if they can deter an intruder from trying to breach the site perimeter, that carries added value. A quality electric fence system, such as we manufacture here in Stirling Scotland, can also come with additional, special features such as anti-climb, anti-spread detection and more. Follow the link for more information on these features and the extra benefits they provide .
The second answer relates to system quality and manufacturing reputation. When a site owner needs to defend against potential losses of tens of thousands of dollars and sometimes more, they need to know that their electric fence system is reliable and effective. At Advanced Perimeter Systems Limited we are privileged to enjoy an international reputation for the quality of our security systems. By controlling all aspects from design through to manufacturing, our customers can enjoy a confidence unmatched by our competitors. That confidence is reflected in the fact that we are currently the leading supplier in the whole of the United States for non-lethal electric fence energisers. At the last count there were more of our energisers installed in the country than from all our competitors combined.
