It is important to safeguard the protection of both the animals and their visitors in wildlife parks. Our Flexiguard™, Electro-Fence™ and Multisys™ systems have all been installed as zoo perimeter security systems. What’s more, they protect a wide range of wildlife from elephants and tigers to parrots!
Zoo Perimeter Security Systems
Security For Elephant Enclosure
In the Spring of 2018 Blackpool Zoo unveiled a special new elephant enclosure: Project Elephant Base Camp.
Construction began in 2017 and the zoo asked us to provide key elements of the zoo perimeter security system. This involved the installation of our Electro-Fence™ and Multisys™ technology. You can read more about the installation in a dedicated news item: Perimeter Security For Project Elephant Base Camp.
Security For Rare Birds
Edinburgh Zoo installed our Flexiguard™ intrusion detection system around the perimeter of their parrot cage to provide protection against theft. These particular parrots are rare and valuable. Thieves were previously cutting the cage and stealing the parrots. Advanced Perimeter Systems Limited provided a solution which also had a little ‘extra’ built in. This was an extra feature to stop the parrots themselves from sabotaging the cabling! So we installed our detection sensor cable within a stainless steel flexible conduit. We knew the parrots would not be able to chew through that!
Wildlife Park Perimeter Security
We also protect a wildlife park in the North East of England with our Flexiguard™ perimeter detection system. Again, the value of the animals and birds within the park was the problem that attracted thieves. However, there were also occasions when people broke through the perimeter just to let the animals loose in order to create havoc. So the wildlife park required an effective security system to detect any attempt at forced or illegal entry on the site perimeter. Our Flexiguard™ detection system was installed on the perimeter fence and has proved to be the ideal solution as a reliable fence alarm.
